This officer is in charge of all active personnel concerning any medical emergencies or patient care responses and the training of all members. The Captain shall define and assign the responsibilities of the 1st and 2nd Lieutenant in the Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG’s). The Captain is responsible for member’s permits issued by the state. (To See that all ambulances and first response vehicles and equipment are in working order.) To keep records of all responses with monthly and annual reports filed to the membership. To maintain the point system and post the points at least monthly. Quarterly, The Captain shall report all members who have failed to perform their duties according to their status and the point system and recommend the Organization take action, if necessary. At the annual meeting, the newly elected Captain shall appoint an Infection Control Officer.
As a Line Officer, this member holds responsibility of keeping abreast of any new requirements and training needed to administer the best patient care available. They must have full working knowledge of all equipment carried by the Far Hills – Bedminster First Aid Squad and the ability to lead the membership. In addition to being in charge of drills, education of members, orientation of new members and driver training certification, the Line Officers are also held responsible for updating and maintaining the Standard Operating Guidelines.
